1. Community Multiphase Blood Analysis - Clinics will be offered during
September throughout the county. Volunteers are needed for registration.
2. Flu vaccine clinics need volunteers for registration during October and
November.

We organize many activities, The Candlelight Dinner Dora in November, The
Strawberry Short Cake Booth in June, a Fashion Show in the Spring, and a
Bread Pudding booth in December
If you can stuff an envelope or hull a strawberry or bake a bread pudding to help us
other ways - we need you!
You will make good friends, have fun and support your local hospital at the same
time.

Purpose: To provide many volunteer services at SSMH.
Description:
Volunteers staff our Information Desks, the Out Patient Registration Area, the OR
Control Desk, and the ER room.
They deliver flowers and mail to patients, transport patients to the radiology area,
and assist with many tasks that help the staff provide the care needed by your
family and friends each day.
You will become part of the SSMH family, by helping patients and staff while
supporting your hospital.

Purpose: Girl Scouts builds girls confidence, courage and character who make the world a
better place.
Description:
There are several volunteer opportunities for adults in Girl Scouting, in addition to
being a group leader. You can work with other adults on administrative tasks. Men
are welcome.
Group Leaders to work directly with girls. Responsibilities include planning and
designing with girls program; meeting with group on a regular basis -
determined by you, girls and their families; Maintain group records and
finances, submitting reports as requested; maintain communication with
volunteer leadership team and parents. Training and support is provided.
Qualifications include willingness to take training, ability to guide girls in learning
to develop their own abilities. Ability to share knowledge, experience and
skills. Be positive, flexible and able to work with children and adults in
partnership.
Cookie Sales Manager Manage the cookie sales for the service area, which
includes training group leaders, and distributing materials, coordinating cookie
shops in the community, compile reports. The sale takes place in the fall. Must
take training for the position. Good bookkeeping skills and enjoy working with
people are a plus.
Community Coordinator to serve as the group organizer and consultant for
groups in an assigned community. Recruiter/Organizer training is required and
offered by the Girl Scouts.
Communications Coordinator Manage public relations, with assistance of the
council's communications director, in the Tioga County area. Includes, but not
limited to media contact. Must take the Communications Coordinator training.
Good writing skills, a positive attitude, and access to a computer are a plus.
Family Share Campaign Manager: Manages comprehensive Family Share
Campaign solicitation within Tioga County. Training is required. Should have
good bookkeeping skills communicate well with people. Trains and distributes
materials to groups/troops, communicating the need for the campaign to families
and volunteers. Collects group donations and submits necessary forms to the
council.

Description:
Activities in which volunteers will be working directly with residents.
1. Assist with daily scheduling activities: coffee break, exercise class, bingo, current
events, rhythm band, etc.
2. Transport residents to and from scheduled activities.
3. Transport residents to and from social activities within community.
4. Conduct craft classes with residents.
5. Conduct game nights, evening programs.
6. "Adopt a Resident" program (1-1 visits).
7. Show movies and / or slide shows.
8. Conduct discussion groups.
9. Pass and read mail to residents.
10. Assist residents with writing letters to families and friends.
11. Hold game session (checkers, card games).
12. Conduct spiritual activities, church, bible study.
13. Assist with wheelchair square dancing and outdoor games.
14. Nail manicures.
15. Take residents for a walk outdoors.
16. Transporting therapy residents to therapy and back to rooms in a wheelchair.

3. Help with addressing and mailing bulk mail.
4. Print monthly calendar and birthday posters for lobby.
5. Typing, filing, stuffing envelopes, etc.
6. Assist with fundraising events.
Special Activities
1. Provide music during lunch and supper hour.
2. Provide evening entertainment such as music, singing, slide shows, etc.

Students in Southern Tioga School District may be eligible to participate in
work-based learning opportunities offered by by your business or industry. Job
Shadow experiences (1-2 day observations), internships (short-term placement with
training plans), or Youth Appreticeships (long-term placements with training plans and
wages), help students learn about the world of work, encourage students to pursue
more training after graduation, and also can help you to get first hand knowledge of a
