We are happy to announce our 2025 Citizen of the Year:

Gerald “Jerry” Farrer exemplifies a life of humble service, unwavering dedication, and quiet generosity. Jerry, a Vietnam Veteran, has served not only his country but also his hometown of Mansfield through decades of steadfast involvement in civic, faith-based, and youth organizations always leading with integrity and heart. 

Jerry's leadership and compassion have supported and guided many over the years in organizations such as the Mansfield VFW Post 6757, United Methodist Church Administrative Council, Friendship Masonic Lodge, Mansfield Municipal Water Authority, and the Mansfield Area Food Pantry.

Jerry fostered youth development and community engagement as a dedicated leader in Mansfield Area Recreation Association (MARA). He mentored Scouts as a Cubmaster and Webelos Den Leader and chaperoned numerous Scouting trips instilling values of leadership, service, and character. His commitment to young people also shined through his years as a Little League baseball and softball coach, where he not only taught the fundamentals of the game but also modeled sportsmanship and teamwork. 

Jerry Farrer's contributions stand as a testament to the enduring influence of his selfless devotion to the community, marked by his constant willingness to lend a hand, share thoughtful guidance, and uplift others with his kind and encouraging presence.

Jerry's banquet will be held at Corey Creek Bar & Restaurant

May 28th, 2025 with Social Time at 5:30pm with the dinner to start at 6pm
